Eyewitnesses said the grey coloured SUV rammed into Samadi Azeez, a student of Gbodofon Middle School identified while on an errand at the popular Aiyegbaju International Market. One of the eyewitnesses, who spoke under condition of anonymity said the student was preparing for the Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination (JSSCE) before he met his untimely death. “The vehicle was speeding from Ogo-Oluwa area when it lost control and rammed into the student who was unaware,” the eyewitness added. An angry mob in the market thereafter set the vehicle ablaze. The father of the deceased, Rasaki Azeez who is the Deputy Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) at Ibadan garage, Fakunle area told Channels Television that the news came to him as a huge shock. He said he received the news of his son’s death while he was working at the garage. The body of the teenage boy has since been deposited at the morgue at Ladoke Akintola University hospital, Osogbo.

A tragedy occurred in Osogbo the Osun State capital on Monday when a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) crushed a teenager to death.
